My 9 Favorite Petite Baggy Jeans - No Tailoring Needed!

|

Time to read 5 min

Being petite, I totally understand how hard it is to find petite baggy jeans that don’t make you look like you’re drowning in denim. I’m obsessed with baggy jeans, especially when I pair them with a fitted top or something cropped to balance things out. The trick is finding the perfect fit, length, and rise that compliments our petite frame and short legs. I’ve rounded up the best petite friendly options that won’t need any tailoring. Let’s get into it!

My favorite petite baggy jeans on the internet right now

1. Paige Zoey 29 Petite Wide Leg Jean

The shoestring belt paired with a baggy jean is a very big trend right now. These Paige jeans feature a very soft fabric with a "worn-in" look.

Designed specifically for petites, the fit is spot on with a shorter inseam and higher knee placement. I would pair this with a cropped t shirt or silk cami top and my favorite pair of thong sandals.

2. Gap Mid Rise UltraSoft Baggy Jeans

You really can’t go wrong with these. They’re super lightweight, soft, and made FOR petites. I’ve seen tons of reviews, and they seem to flatter everyone whether you’re curvy, skinny, or somewhere in between. The fit is relaxed but not overwhelming, and they sit just right.

One customer said, “The jeans were so cute and were the perfect length and size. I got so many compliments. The color looked perfect.” That pretty much sums it up!"

These Abercrombie ultra loose denim jeans are probably my most worn denim in my closet. They hang perfectly without feeling sloppy and give major Pinterest girl energy while still being wearable for everyday. The fabric is very soft while still having structure and shape which works perfectly for women who have shorter legs. These are definitely my top choice out of this list!

4. Mother PETITES The Lil Dodger Button Sneak

Mother is the elite brand for denim in my opinion. They finally decided to make a petite denim collection which I am so happy about.

This slouchy straight leg style in the “Wipeout” wash gives off that cool, vintage vibe. It features a baggy low rise fit  and a classic button fly. Yes, they are pricey but if there is one pair of denim I would say to invest in, it's Mother.

5. Madewell Petite Low-Slung Baggy Crop

If you like that effortlessly cool look these high rise baggy jeans from Madewell are for you. They have a more cropped look, so I would size down for a more baggy fit.

Pair it with a simple tee, an open toe sandal and some cute jewelry for an everyday casual look.

6. Abercrombie Mid Rise Slouchy Jean

These mid rise slouchy jeans from Abercrombie are a best-seller on the website. They come in different inseam lengths, and a lot of different washes. I particularly like this vintage wash for a more daytime casual look. It's important to note, that if you are someone who likes stretch in their denim, these do not have that.

They sit slouchy at the waist and hips and ease into a full length baggy leg that looks very flattering on petites too.

7. Abercrombie Low Rise Ultra Loose Jean

I got these for myself and I’m obsessed. As a petite, I can say they fit perfectly with no dragging and no need to cuff. It has a raw hem, so even if it's still too long, you can cut them yourself. Very effortlessly chic vibes and they look so good dressed down with sneakers or styled up with a tank and heels.

They are low rise, but can also be made mid rise with a belt if needed.

8. Joes Lou Lou Petite Low Rise Wide Leg Jean

This milky white pair is perfectly proportioned for petites (5'4" and under), so no hemming needed finally! The low rise fit sits just right on the hips, and the wide leg cut gives the illusion of a more elongated leg.

It's a great option if you're headed to a Sunday brunch or a semi-fancy dinner with friends. These are definitely a pair of pants that will exist in your closet for years to come.

9. Denim Forum The Farrah High rise Wide Jean

Another pair of jeans I couldn’t resist buying and they’re truly worth it. These jeans from Denim Forum are sold on the Aritzia website and go on sale very often. It's a classic wide leg jean with a high rise, slim hip.

They don't have as much stretch as I typically would want in my denim, but couldn't resist returning them since they looked so flattering on. As a petite, I did notice a bit of extra room around the waist, but with a belt, it actually looked even better.

How to style petite baggy jeans

Jeans have always been one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe, but when it comes to petite baggy jeans, the real game changer is the fit.

For shorter frames, it’s not just about the look it’s about proportion. You want that perfectly relaxed look without being overwhelmed by too much fabric. The best way to style baggy jeans is by balancing the volume. Go for a fitted or cropped top to define your waist and create shape. Adding in some platform sneakers, ankle boots, or mules, helps elongate your legs and gives structure to the overall look.

Another option is tucking in a simple tank, especially if your jeans are more oversized. A boxy jacket or blazer can also elevate the outfit and bring a certain balance to the bagginess.

And if the waist runs a little wide (which can happen a lot with petites), a belt not only solves the issue but also adds a cute finish to it. So while jeans are naturally easy to wear, getting the shape right and knowing how to style them for your petite frame will have you golden.
